Most software updates are a list of things nobody asked for. This one came from watching how Pakistani retailers, wholesalers, and restaurants actually move through a day — where the money slips, where the queue stalls, where an owner managing five branches loses an afternoon. So this release leans into financial control, a quicker checkout, and an admin console that respects your time. As ever, you can switch the new modules on per business as add-ons, so nobody pays for what they don't run.

Here's what changed.

A second signature before the big money moves

The payments that hurt most when they go wrong are the large supplier disbursements — a wrong figure, a wrong account, or worse, a payment nobody meant to release. ClearRing now puts a two-person approval ladder in front of those.

You set a threshold that suits your business. Any vendor payment at or above it is parked as Pending Approval automatically: no cash moves, no bank transaction fires, and no accounting journal is posted until someone reviews it. A second authorized approver opens the approval inbox, looks at the payment, and either approves it — which disburses the money and posts the journal entry in a single step — or rejects it with a reason. Every decision, yes or no, lands in the audit trail, so you get clean segregation of duties and a paper trail an auditor will actually accept.

Anything under the threshold still posts instantly, so the small daily payments never slow down. Only the big-ticket ones earn a second set of eyes. Vendor Payment Approvals is a subscription add-on you can assign to any tenant from the platform admin console.

Installments that chase themselves

Buy-now-pay-later is easy to offer and hard to collect. The Installments module now carries a proper collections workflow so you're not the one phoning customers about overdue amounts.

Overdue plans escalate on their own through automatic dunning, so nothing quietly slips past. Customers who fall behind can be blocked from taking on more credit until they settle, which keeps your cash flow from leaking. And a self-service portal lets buyers log in to see their schedule, what they've paid, what's due next, and their outstanding balance, then download a printable receipt — which spares your counter a steady trickle of "how much do I still owe?" calls.

Set the down payment, the number of installments, and the due dates, and ClearRing tracks each one separately and flags anything overdue the moment it tips past due.

Shaving seconds off every sale

On a high-volume lane, seconds compound into queues. This release tightens the POS terminal for exactly that.

You can now move through the whole cart from the keyboard — jump between lines, change quantities, apply a line discount, and remove items without ever reaching for the mouse. Hold a sale with F8 and complete it with F10. A quick-add grid keeps your fastest movers, ranked by seven-day sales velocity, one tap away. A live receipt pane shows the customer's bill building as you scan, and you can create a new customer straight from the cart without leaving the sale. Fewer keystrokes, shorter queues, and a gentler learning curve for new cashiers.

Screens tuned for the hardware you actually use

Full-screen modes got fitted to real-world devices rather than a designer's monitor. The Restaurant, Kitchen Display, and Takeaway Queue screens were reworked for tablet tap-targets and landscape layouts. The self-service Kiosk was tuned for 1080p portrait displays with larger, more legible cards and controls. The Customer-Facing Display now uses high contrast and big type that reads cleanly across a counter. And the public QR menu and customer portal are genuinely mobile-first now, with bigger tap targets and safe-area handling for modern phones.

FBR invoicing: separating noise from the few that need you

FBR Digital Invoice submissions gained an Action Required bucket that pulls out the submissions that have permanently failed and genuinely need a human. Instead of scrolling past hundreds of healthy invoices to find the three that broke, your team sees only those three. Real-time submission, exponential auto-retry, and QR-coded receipts all work exactly as before.

Closing the gaps around cash and staff

Cashier shift reconciliation now handles over and short amounts with a tolerance you can configure, posts the variance to the right accounting entry, and even surfaces a cash-accuracy leaderboard so you can see who counts carefully. Attendance now passes through a supervisor's review and approval before it reaches payroll, which closes one of the most common payroll-accuracy gaps. And subscription billing got a grace-period banner with automated reminders, suspending an account only after due process rather than the moment a payment is late.

An admin console for people running several businesses

If you manage more than one tenant, this is where the release earns its keep. A single tenants-by-add-ons matrix lets the master administrator grant or revoke any module for any tenant in one click, and every new capability above can be assigned this way. A bills overview shows estimated monthly recurring revenue across all tenants, with active, past-due, and suspended counts in one glance. You can soft-archive a tenant — hidden from listings, logins disabled — while keeping all its data intact, then restore it later. A system health dashboard reports live status for the database, cache, background job queue, and FBR error rate, refreshing on its own.

Support got safer too. When an administrator impersonates a tenant to help with an issue, a clear banner shows the active session and read-only mode is enforced by default, so nobody accidentally edits a customer's live data while trying to help.

That's the thread running through all of it: tighter control where money and data are at stake, less friction everywhere else. Turn on the pieces your business needs and leave the rest off.
