You can be ringing up your first FBR-compliant sale before your chai goes cold. The setup is genuinely about half an hour, and you don't need to touch anything live until you're ready. Here's the path from a blank account to a finished receipt.
Create your account
Head to pos.gridx.app/register and enter your business name, email, and a password. That's the whole sign-up.
Your account starts in Test Mode, which is exactly where you want to be on day one. Every transaction you make is tagged as test data, so you can poke at settings, ring up imaginary sales, and break things without consequences. When you're confident, you flip to Production mode in Settings. Nothing you do before then touches your real books.
Fill in your business settings
Open Settings and put in the basics: your business name and address, your NTN (the FBR registration number), your province, and your currency and tax settings. The province matters more than it looks — it affects how invoices are formatted for FBR submission, so get it right now rather than wondering later why something's rejected.
Add your products
Go to Products, then Add Product. For each item you'll set a name and SKU or barcode, a selling price and cost price, and a starting stock quantity. Two fields are easy to overlook and both matter for compliance: the HS Code, which you can search straight from the FBR database inside the form, and the tax category — 18% standard, or reduced, or exempt, depending on what you sell.
If you're staring down a few hundred SKUs, don't type them in by hand. Use the Import Template to bulk-upload everything from Excel in one go.
Connect FBR
This is the step people dread and it's honestly the least dramatic. Under Settings, open FBR Settings and enter your FBR Bearer Token from the IRIS portal, along with your Seller NTN and province.
Start in Staging Mode. This tests your invoices against FBR's sandbox, so you can confirm everything submits cleanly without sending anything to the real system. Once your test invoices go through without complaint, switch to Live Mode and you're filing for real.
Make your first sale
Open the POS Terminal from the sidebar. Search or scan a product to drop it in the cart, pick a customer if you want to (it's optional), choose a payment method, and hit Checkout.
Behind that one click, ClearRing generates an invoice number, deducts the item from inventory, posts the accounting entries, submits the invoice to FBR in the background, and prints a receipt with the QR code on it. You did one thing; the system did five.
Where to go next
That's it — you're processing compliant sales. From here, explore at whatever pace suits you. Inventory shows your stock levels, movements, and low-stock alerts. Reports cover daily sales, product performance, and tax summaries. Accounting holds your journal entries, P&L, and balance sheet. And Customers is where the ledger, loyalty points, and credit management live.
